Welcome to Elgin Chiropractic

When you choose to receive care at our clinic, you can expect a welcoming, personalized experience from start to finish. We are here to help you feel better, move better, and live better—every step of the way.

What to Expect

Your First Visit

When you book your appointment, we’ll email you an intake form to collect basic information about your health history. This helps us make the most of your 45-minute consultation, where Ross will listen to your concerns, assess your condition, and discuss your goals for care. In most cases, treatment will be provided during this session.

If any major contraindications to chiropractic treatment are identified during your examination, rest assured that we will guide you toward the most appropriate care to ensure you receive the treatment that is genuinely best for you. If necessary, we can arrange a referral for private imaging or recommend consulting your GP for further evaluation. Our priority is ensuring you get the care you need to set you on the path to feeling better.

Your Second Visit

During your second visit, we’ll take the time to review the findings from your initial consultation and explain everything we’ve discovered in detail. We’ll also present a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.

This 30-minute session includes a follow-up treatment as part of your care, giving you an opportunity to experience how the plan works in practice. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask questions and ensure you’re fully comfortable with the proposed approach moving forward.

Treatment Plan

Your treatment plan will be designed around your specific needs, lifestyle, and goals. Whether you’re looking for relief from pain, improved movement, or extra support for your overall wellbeing, we’ll make sure the plan works for you.

It’s flexible too—if your situation changes, we can adjust things to keep you on track. We’ll always offer advice based on our experience, but the rest is up to you. From easing symptoms at the start to helping you maintain progress, our approach is straightforward and focused on what works best for you. Throughout your care, our priority is to ensure that you feel comfortable, supported, and informed. We want to help you achieve lasting results and are committed to guiding you on your journey to better health.

  • What should I bring to my first appointment?
You don’t need to bring anything specific to your first appointment. We recommend wearing something comfortable. If you prefer, you can bring a change of clothes and change at the clinic. A vest top is ideal, as it allows the chiropractor to perform a better assessment.
  • How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early if you have already filled in your online intake form. If you prefer to fill out the intake form by paper, please come in 10-15 minutes early to allow yourself time.
  • How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required will depend on your personal condition, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. During your second visit, your chiropractor will create a personalized plan based on how you've responded to treatment and review it with you. Once people have completed their plan of care, many patients then opt for maintenance visits to help prevent symptoms from returning and maintain their benefits of their investment.
  • What does an adjustment feel like?
Most patients describe an adjustment as a relieving and gentle sensation. You might feel a quick release of pressure and may hear a popping sound as your joints are realigned. It’s generally not painful, and many feel improved mobility and comfort afterward. However, if the area is inflamed, you may experience some discomfort. If there is ever too much discomfort, we will adapt the treatment to suit your needs and ensure you remain comfortable throughout the process.
  • Will I be sore after my adjustment?
Some patients may experience mild soreness or stiffness following an adjustment, similar to what you might feel after a workout. This is normal and typically resolves within a day or two. You may be recommended an ice pack to reduce any inflammation and gentle exercises to support recovery and maintain your progress. If you have any further concerns after treatment, we are here for you—just give us a call, and we can answer any questions or arrange a telephone consultation for you.
